Belajar (Lagi) Tentang Dunia Tuli: Traning Introduction to Deafness

Duh.

Agenda kegiatannya kurang lebih sebagai berikut:

Day one: Tuesday 14th May 2024, 10.30-12.30pm UK time

We will start with a short quiz covering the information you learnt about deafness in the e-learning.

Once we know what deafness is and is not we will break down some myths and misconceptions about deafness that exist in different communities around the world. We will look particularly  at the stigma that exists for deaf children in low income communities in the developing world and the impact deafness can have.

Day two: Wednesday 15th May 2024, 10.30-12.30pm UK time

On day two we will apply our knowledge of deafness to think about deaf identity, community and culture.  We will think about how your programmes and projects can be inclusive.  Deaf children and young people in the developing world  tend to be diagnosed late and come from hearing families with low to no literacy or knowledge of deafness and this can significantly add to the impact on them.

Day three: Thursday 16th May 2024, 10.30-12.30pm UK time

On day three we will focus on practical issues of communication and introduce some basic assistive devices.  We will discuss some tips on how to successfully communicate with deaf children and young people and leave time for any questions you have.
