Bintan is worth to be in every traveler’s bucket list because this island has many tourist spots, each with its own uniqueness: from a temple with hundreds of statues to the largest saltwater pool in Southeast Asia. Here are all the must-visit epic places in Bintan.

The Temple of Thousand Faces

See various facial expressions and gestures carved on the statues in the temple that also serves as a gathering place for various nations.

This temple is open every day, except on Wednesday (the day of prayer). Visiting hours: 09:00 – 17:00 WIB.

The Temple of Thousand Faces was established in 2010 by a Singaporean but officiated in 2017 by the Governor of Riau.

The statues are made by artists from the People’s Republic of China.

The admission fee is Rp5.000 for local tourists and Rp30.000 for foreign tourists. The fee will be used for the temple’s maintenance fund.

Tips:bring some water and make sure you are in good condition. This place is located on a hill and the weather in Bintan is sizzling.

Busung Village Sand Dune

The dune is the result of a sand mine that is no longer used.

Opens every day, visiting hours start from 09:00 – 18:00 WIB.

This dune will radiate a pinkish tone when the sun is blazing.

Even though it looks like a fine sand dune, it actually has rough gravel.

Come in the morning or evening (the sunset here is amazing!) because the weather is very hot and blazing in the afternoon.

Bring water and snacks because it is difficult to find stalls or people who sell food and drinks around the location.

Be careful when stepping. The surface of the sand in this place is as hard as corals.

“A beautiful imperfection when nature blends with human touch and time. Not only sand dunes, but there are also small lake that beautifies and adds color to this place!”
